There are two membership classifications.

General Members are individuals, partnerships, corporations or other legal entities who own, operate, manage, plan, build and or develop rental housing, condominiums, cooperatives and other forms of multi-family properties in South Dakota. Employees of a General member shall be members and shall have the right to hold elective as well as appointive office and to vote in the course of exercising the duties of such office.

Associate Members are those who deal with apartment owners and builders in allied fields such as: architects, lenders, contractors, material suppliers, etc. Associate members and their employees are entitled to all the rights and privileges of a General Member except for the right to hold elective office and to use the term “General Member”.

GENERAL MEMBER ADVANTAGES:

  • BHAMHA Membership provides membership in the National Apartment Association and their lobbying efforts in Washington, DC, the monthly magazine called UNITS containing information on industry trends, taxes, legislation, maintenance, and other timely facts and tips.
  • Monthly meetings cover various educational subjects and formats; legislative updates.
  • Educational Seminars include: Credit hours for License Renewal, Maintenance Seminars, Resident and Property Owner Rights & Responsibilities, Basics of Rental Property Ownership and more!
  • Tax Deductible BHAMHA Membership Dues.
  • Opportunity to be involved in the future direction of BHAMHA via participation in committees and Boards.
